How Stride handles your personal data

Who is Stride?

Stride Workplace is a platform that helps your employer manage their workplace pension scheme. We handle the administration — things like tracking contributions, managing salary exchange, compliance reporting, and giving you tools to understand and engage with your pension.

How did you get my data?

Your employer provided your personal details to us as part of administering your workplace pension scheme. This includes your name, date of birth, salary, National Insurance number, and pension contribution details. Your employer is legally required to enrol you in a pension scheme and provide this information to their scheme administrator.

What do we know about you?

Your employer has shared:

  • Your name, date of birth, email, and phone number
  • Your National Insurance number
  • Your salary, job title, and employment dates
  • Your pension contribution rates and salary exchange status

You may also choose to provide additional information through the platform, such as:

  • Financial Healthcheck answers
  • Retirement planner and estate planner inputs
  • Referral requests for financial advice

What’s private from your employer?

Your employer cannot see:

  • Your Financial Healthcheck answers or scores
  • Your retirement planner inputs or projections
  • Your estate planner inputs
  • Any referral requests you make for financial advice
  • Whether you have requested a consultation with a financial adviser

These are private. They are between you and Stride.

What happens if I request financial advice?

If you choose to request a consultation through the platform, your name, contact details, and selected service areas are shared with the financial adviser (currently Josh Stock-Mooney DipPFS at Quilter Financial Advisers). Your employer is not informed. From that point, Quilter’s own privacy notice applies to how your data is handled for advice purposes. You can view it at quilter.com/privacy.

How long do you keep my data?

  • While you are employed and enrolled in the scheme: for the duration of your membership
  • After you leave: 7 years from your last activity (this is a regulatory requirement from The Pensions Regulator)
  • Financial Healthcheck responses: 7 years
  • After the retention period: your data is anonymised or deleted

What if I leave my employer?

Your data is retained in accordance with our retention policy (7 years from your last activity). If your employer has enabled alumni access, you may continue to use certain platform features. Otherwise, your account becomes inactive but your records are maintained for regulatory compliance.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • See what data we hold about you
  • Correct any inaccurate data
  • Request deletion (where regulatory requirements allow)
  • Restrict how we process your data
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Object to processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time
